Friday 4th February is about to get very special, with a relaxed and chilled out evening of ear grabbing harmonies and a beautiful mix of genres that The Frank Burkitt Band eloquently blend to create their original and mesmerising sound!

Frank is a story teller, songwriter, and guitarist. A lover of folk, blues and intelligent songwriting His rambling anecdotes aim to give the audience more connection with his songs. Songs that convey his busy thoughts on life and his persistent frustration with mankind. The latest album ‘Silvereye’, named after the beautiful small bird of NZ (released 10/9/21) is his most intimate, sentimental and personally revealing album yet. Introspective, extremely indulgent but also crucial for some mental sanity.

Frank, along with his partner Kara and his NZ based ensemble, has toured extensively through NZ, Australia, Canada, Ireland and the UK and in 2019 the band were awarded the Vodafone NZ Music Award (Tui) for Best Folk Artist.

Frank and Kara then moved to Manchester at the start of 2020 – shifting the band from a full ensemble to a duo. The pandemic has slowed their progress but they used lockdown to create a new set of earthy, honest and harmonious songs which they can’t wait to share with audiences across the UK and beyond.

We will be recording the gig live and once we have had a chance to listen back and we are happy with the results, each attendee will receive some selected tracks that have been professionally mixed and edited. Attendees should receive these digitally within two weeks of the event.

This is a unique gig experience that puts you at the heart of the artist’s performance.

A large proportion of the revenue raised from ticket sales is returned to the artists as payment for their talent and musicianship.

Prohibition Recording Studios prides itself in having musical integrity on behalf of ourselves and the artists.

Tickets are allocated on a first-come, first-serve basis.

No under 18s allowed. Doors open at 18:30 and the show starts at 19:30.

We politely ask all guests to arrive before the start time to ensure performances are not disturbed.

Ticket sales end at 12pm on the day of the event – No tickets will be available on the door unless specified by Prohibition Recording Studios.

Note: There is limited seating at the venue – to avoid disappointment, please arrive for the event start time, which coincides with the doors opening. There are steps on entry to the building, so we are very sorry, but unfortunately due to restrictions of the building management we cannot offer a ramp for wheelchair users at this time. There may be a small card processing fee, unfortunately Prohibition Recording Studios cannot control this. We absorb all other fees where possible.
