About The Events
Originally from Accrington, UK, singer songwriter Quint Starkie has been in the music business for over 30 years, working as a session musician, composer, producer and live performer.
After joining his first professional band in England, Quint toured Scandinavia, Germany and the UK. A move to Hollywood in the mid-eighties saw him playing with various LA bands, which eventually landed him a management deal.
As well as playing casual gigs at Caesars Palace and The Roosevelt Hotel, he also performed at the Whisky a Go Go, Madame Wong’s, The Roxy and other legendary venues.
After moving to Sweden in the 90s, Quint joined Elektra recording artists ¨On the Rox¨ before deciding to concentrate on a career in TV and Film music production. Since then, he has written countless jingles and idents for some of the world’s biggest and most famous brands such as McDonald’s, Toyota, Diners Club, American Express, SAS, and Coca Cola etc.
As a songwriter, studio musician and producer, Quint has worked with Björn Skiffs, Jerry Williams, Tommy Nilsson, Harpo, Jill Johnson, Meja, Sahlene, Anders Bagge, Max Martin, Bengt Palmers, Gladys Del Pilar, Ebbot and even Roger Moore.
In 2001 he signed a publishing deal with EMI and composed over 150 songs. The soundtrack to “My Best Friends Wedding” featured the song ¨Always you¨ co-written with Sophie Zelmani, achieved 2x Platinum sales in the US and 6x Platinum in Australia.
His debut solo album ¨Ghost in my heart¨ was released in November 2016, featuring songs focusing on the artist’s life and experiences growing up in Northern England during the 70s and 80s. The musicians on the album have played with many great artists including Robert Plant, Sting, Santana, Lauren Hill, David Lee Roth, Francis Dunnery, Brian May to name a few.
His second self produced solo album Quintessential released April 2023, has already received glowing reviews by both fans and critics. The album has a west coast feel harking back to Quint’s carefree days in California.
Quint has recently done 3 tours with UK prog rock band It Bites and is currently a member of the Tombstone Dunnery Blues band. Quint will be touring the UK with Dorie Jackson (Francis Dunnery, Chriss Difford, Kraprekars Konstant) on October. Quint is sponsored by Dusenburg Guitars, Bose, Chicken Picks and T-Rex Effects, Laney Amplification…..
Supporting Quint will be Mark Dennis.
Based in North Wales, guitarist singer-songwriter Mark Dennis was once described as a ‘One man Orchestra’.
The self-taught guitarist has developed a unique acoustic playing style, combining storytelling with simple and complex finger picking, emotional lyrics and heart-felt vocals, he creates a unique blend of melodic indie-fusion soundscapes with the guitar.
2024 has been an exciting year. This acoustic raconteur has supported the amazing British songwriter Boo Hewerdine and the incredible American guitarist Brooks Williams with the dynamic fiddle player Aaron Catlow.
Mark also supported the Australian songwriter Liz Stringer as part of her UK tour.
Mark was selected as a finalist in the Liverpools Acoustic Songwriters Challenge for the second year running. He has also played live on local radio and is looking forward to releasing his first digital EP of new songs during 2024.
