About The Events
Jersey Budd is a singer/songwriter from Leicester, England.
His music is in the style of contemporary Americana, but with a distinct, and idiosyncratic Englishness which sets him apart from many performers in this genre.
Jersey made his recording debut in 2008 with the release of the album ‘Wonderlands’. Critically well received, this release prompted support tours with artists such as John Martyn, Amy McDonald, Turin Brakes, The Enemy, and Ocean Colour Scene. Tom Meighan, Kasabian’s ex-frontman, even features on the backing vocals of one of the tracks on the album ‘She Came Back,’ which received extensive support from Steve Wright and Bob Harris on BBC Radio 2.
Building on from the momentum Jersey gained from the ‘Wonderland’ project, he released a string of EP’s including ‘Down to the wire’ and ‘Heartbreaker’. This hard work in the studio started to get Jersey some attention and high caliber gigs such as In 2013, when Jersey took the stage at the iconic Royal Albert Hall, having been invited to play by Sir Roger Daltrey. Jersey’s style has evolved since this period with the heavy weaponry of wall to wall guitars slipping away in favour of an eclectic mix of electric and acoustic instrumentation.
This has allowed the elegance and beauty of Jersey’s songs to shine and the huge power of his wonderful voice to be delivered unimpeded, which has delighted audiences throughout the UK and Europe.
In the studio, Jersey has been working with producer Rick Willson of Diesel Park West, sincethe release of his album ‘The Gathering Dust’ in 2017. Since then, he has continued to develop his material and live performances, notably by putting together his band Silverball, who allow Jersey to deliver searing onstage performances, and communicating with one.
