About The Events
Described by Getintothis as having ‘the voice to light up your life’, Evie Moran is a 20 year old singer-songwriter from Liverpool.
With delicate vocals and an intimate style, Evie’s stripped back sets often have the effect of quietening a room and captivating an audience.
Reflecting influences like Billie Marten and The Staves, her carefully crafted originals tell stories of love, dreams and nature.
Evie has previously appeared at events including Sound City, Threshold Festival and FOCUS Wales and has received much support from BBC Introducing Merseyside. Evie is one of twelve artists accepted onto this year’s Sound City artist development programme sponsored by size?, as well as being nominated for ‘Best Solo Artist’ at the KCC Music Awards alongside artists including Pixey and Zuzu.
Supporting Evie will be James Jackson. For those who don’t know James, see below:
James Jackson is an indie-folk Singer-Songwriter from Liverpool, England.
Once described by an audience member as a “therapy session on stage”, James is an emotionally intense live act.
His evocative lyrics and commanding performance have drawn vast comparisons to artists such as Damien Rice, Joni Mitchell and John Martyn.
His storytelling through song is staggering, and when set to their beautiful guitar playing, the results are gut-wrenching and heartfelt, relatable yet very personal. There’s something extraordinarily hypnotising about Jackson gently confessing his soul with such tremendous honesty. Despite being only 19, he has been working his craft in the industry for the last 10 years, with early support coming from BBC Introducing when he was just 14 years old.
The next year sees James working hard to bring his captivating performance to a wider audience with his debut single “Rosé”.
Consider this your chance, as a fan, to come hear the artist you love perform in an intimate, inner-city studio environment and also discover new, similar and fantastic musicians.
This is a unique gig experience that puts you at the heart of the artist’s performance.
A large proportion of the revenue raised from ticket sales is returned to the artists as payment for their talent and musicianship.
Prohibition Recording Studios prides itself in having musical integrity on behalf of ourselves and the artists.
